SPACE TO BREATHE - NEW COLLECTION

Space to breathe, the latest collection by Hannah Heys, focuses on the magic that happens when creativity is mentally and physically given space. 

On display for the first time at Future Icons Selects, 'Space to breathe', represents  Hannah’s journey from Textiles Artist to Ceramicist, incorporating her Textiles and Surface Design skills to create Ceramics work that feels like a flowing artistic process, almost meditative. 

The collection is a celebration of creativity, with delicate matte finish, alongside accents of textured gilding in 23.5ct gold leaf. 

Creation of the collection included a wide range of experimentation, with the final shapes developed to imitate cones, balls and skeins of yarn. Decoration was developed to create depth, using a range of tools, including sewing needles and a bradawl.

The designs themselves are flowing abstract representations of Nature and Architecture, a direct contrast to the solidity of the high fired ceramics.
